Colonial Heights Neighborhood Association Meeting

Wednesday, February 14, 2024, 6:30-8:00 PM

Location: Colonial Heights Library (4799 Stockton Blvd)

Agenda (Draft): 

•  Welcome/Introductions (10 mins)

•  Police, Library, Gov’t Representatives Update (5 min each)

Police, Colonial Heights Library and City, County, and State officials and their representatives have been invited to talk with neighbors about their concerns.

•  UCD Aggie Square Presentation and Discussion (15 Min)

Sumiko Hong of UC Davis with give a short presentation and answer questions about the ongoing project at UCD’s Aggie Square on Stockton Blvd.

•  Who are Our Government Representatives? (10 Min)

A short presentation on who represents Colonial Heights and what are our districts throughout many levels of government.

•  CHNA Volunteer Opportunities for 2024 (15 Min)

Come to discover and sign up for volunteer opportunities in CHNA and your neighborhood.

•  Committee Updates (10 min)

Updates from CHNA’s existing Committees will be given:

Colonial Park, National Night Out, Mercy Housing, Finance/Treasury, T-shirt, Porchfest, Garden Tour, Communication

•  New Committee Presentation and Approval Vote (5 min)

Two new committees, the Bird Watching Committee, and the Colonial Library Committee, will be discussed and their approval voted on.

• Bird Watching Committee: The group will gather once a month on the morning of the first Saturday of the month, meeting at the basketball court in Colonial Park and walk for about an hour learning about the birds that live in our community. This is a family and dog friendly event (sorry no cats). Leaders: Ian Levine & Sarah Kerber. Funding: City Councilmember Eric Guerra has offered to fund donuts for 8 meetings (Est $160).
• Colonial Library Garden Committee: The group will meet one Saturday a month at Colonial Library after bilingual story time to help tend to and learn about the plants in the community garden. This is a family friendly event. Leaders: Sarah Kerber & Jilzy Christensen. Funding: Friends of the Colonial Heights Library.

•  General Discussion with vote to move Monthly Meeting Day

• Colonial Park Mulch Party – Sat. March 23rd 9 AM
• Colonial Heights Garden Tour 2024 – Sun. May 5th
• National Night Out – Tue. August 6th
• Colonial Heights Porchfest 2024 – Sat. October 5th
• CHNA Monthly meetings day to change in April.
